What do we buy
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is to establish a NMSO for government departments, agencies, Crown corporations, and organizations participating in the Canadian Collaborative Procurement Initiative (CCPI).
This procurement tool is used for the supply and delivery of hyper-realistic medical equipment and training, spare parts, and refurbishment within the aforementioned commodities on an as-and-when requested basis. The standing offer (SO) will include subject matter expert (SME) services as well as rental of equipment.
Hyper-realistic medical equipment is used to enhance training capability and preparedness in trauma combat casualty care from the point of injury through to surgical intervention. The SO intends to include both human worn prosthetic equipment, which allows valuable interaction between Medic and live patient, as well as full body equipment.
How do we buy
- An SO will be awarded to Strategic Operations Tactical Training Canada (ST/OPS TTC)
- The period of the SO is for 3 years with the option to extend the offer by 2 optional years
- Client departments will have the ability to select from the SO the products or services that best meet their individual requirements
- The call-ups made against the awarded NMSO will be considered non-competitive
Socio-economic aspects
Green procurement: Environmentally preferred packaging will be mandatory in the SO. Accessibility will be considered and incorporated into the requirement.
Value / Savings / Considerations
As a result of the business volume, economies of scale are generated by the use of the SO. CCPI participants benefit from having quick access to medical supplies and training as well as being able to use an efficient procurement method to fulfill their requirements.
