What do we buy
Public Services and Procurement Canada is to establish a NMSO for government departments, agencies, Crown corporations, and organizations participating in the Canadian Collaborative Procurement Initiative (CCPI), except areas subject to comprehensive land claims agreements (CLCA).
This procurement tool is used for the supply and delivery of rechargeable batteries (absorbed glass mat (AGM)) for marine aids to navigation and telecommunications (12 volt, 6 volt and 2 volt) on an as and when requested basis. The requirement does not contain servicing, installation, repair or overhaul. In the event a client requires delivery in a CLCA area, this procurement will be treated as a separate requirement outside this standing offer (SO).
How do we buy
- 1 SO is to be issued for an initial period of 3 years, with the option to extend the offer by up to 2 additional periods of 1 year each
- Offerors must provide firm unit prices for each item, with volume pricing discounts provided for call-up purchases made for higher quantities
- The SO will be issued to the responsive offer submission with the lowest aggregate offer price
- Delivery points for the goods of this SO will be to locations across Canada, excluding those covered by CLCA
Socio-economic aspects
Not applicable.
Value / Savings / Considerations
The NMSO is a convenient method of supply that saves time and money. The department or agency deals directly with the offeror to obtain the goods they need. Call-ups against a SO are processed faster, involve less paperwork and have pre-set prices and terms already determined. For taxpayers, the advantages are lower government administrative costs and reduced inventory. In addition, the NMSO provides improved client service and with a SO in place, clients can place orders quickly with minimal impact to their day to day operations.
