Reminder of the identity verification requirement changes for personnel security screening

Communiqué: January 5, 2021

Starting January 11, 2021, company security officers (CSO) and alternate company security officers (ACSO) of organizations registered with Public Services and Procurement Canada's Contract Security Program will be required to implement new documentary requirements set out by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat to verify their employees’ identity.

We encourage you to review the communiqué from December 8, 2020 on the identity verification requirement. This communiqué provides access to new learning products and tools developed by the program to help CSOs and ACSOs conduct proper identity verifications during the background check process.
