SUBJECT: Automation of Final Adjustments of Basic Pay and Allowances - Temporarily Struck Off Strength and Struck Off Strength Employees

1. PURPOSE

1.1 This directive is to advise you of a delay in the implementation of the above mentioned initiative and to correct a message code published in Compensation Directive 1997-025 dated September 4, 1997.

2. POLICY

2.1 This initiative, which will automate final pay adjustments on Temporarily Struck off Strength (T-SOS) and Struck off Strength (SOS) accounts, will be in production on October 20, 1997.

3. PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 The delay will be used for additional parallel testing from September 29, 1997 through October 19, 1997 using actual T-SOS and SOS cases, to further ensure the quality of this complex initiative.

This time will also allow Compensation Specialists to participate in the training sessions, to digest new procedures and to adjust current work processes.

4. CORRECTION

4.1 The message code "N91" quoted in Section 3 - Policy, paragraph 3.2 vi) of Compensation Directive 1997-025 should have read "S91". The remainder of the information remains unchanged.

5. INQUIRIES

5.1 Any inquiries on the foregoing should be addressed to your Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Compensation Services Office.
