SUBJECT: Long Service Pay--Firefighters

1. PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of this directive is to advise you of changes to "Long Service Pay", an allowance payable to Firefighters (Bargaining Unit Designator [BUD] 60200) under the Operational Group collective agreement signed on April 16, 1999.

1.2 In this text, use of masculine is generic and applies to both men and women.

2. POLICY

2.1 As a result of collective bargaining, the maximum annual rate for Long Service Pay (entitlement code 097) has increased from $870.00 to $970.00 for employees with 30 or more years of service. This increase is effective April 16, 1999. Please refer to Section 5.01 Appendix "A" of the Agreement between Treasury Board and the Public Service Alliance of Canada for the Operational Group.

3. PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 Version number 379 of the Deduction/Entitlement Control file went in production on

October 18, 1999 and contains the revised rate for the above-noted allowance.
