Note This document has been modified. The changes are identified by a vertical line "|". Revision (|)

On April 22, 2008, the Honourable Iris Evans, Minister of Finance for the Government of Alberta, announced, in the Alberta budget speech, that the Alberta Health Care premiums will be eliminated, effective January 1, 2009.

As a result of this announcement, premiums will no longer be deducted for residents of Alberta under the Alberta Health Care Plan.

Please note that arrears for any period prior to 2009 will continue to be taken from the employees pay until the arrears are paid in full.

| Residents of Alberta do not have to reregister for AHCIP coverage, but they must contact AHCIP for changes in registration information such as a name change or the birth of a child.
